The 2025 model-year update to the Taycan (the J1 II facelift) brought a new rear motor adapted from the Macan EV, improved battery chemistry, faster 320 kW DC charging and stronger regeneration. The rear-wheel-drive base Taycan, fitted with the optional 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus, is rated at 402 hp in the US market (429 hp / 320 kW with the overboost launch-control figure in Europe) and reaches 60 mph in 4.5 seconds with launch control. The EPA rates its combined efficiency at 92 MPGe and its range at up to 318 miles, the highest of the 2025 Taycan range.
