For the 2025 model year BMW gave the G87 M2 a mid-cycle bump, raising the S58 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six from 453 to 473 hp. The M2 keeps the classic M recipe of a straight-six, rear-wheel drive, and an available six-speed manual; this US variant uses the no-cost 8-speed M Steptronic automatic, which BMW pairs with 443 lb-ft of torque and a 3.9-second 0-60 mph claim. Car and Driver instrumented the automatic at a sharper 3.5 seconds to 60 and an 11.6-second quarter mile. Top speed is limited to 155 mph, or 177 mph with the optional M Driver's Package.
