The 2025 BMW i4 eDrive40 Gran Coupe is the volume long-range model of BMW's first electric 4 Series-bodied fastback, built on the CLAR architecture it shares with the combustion 4 Series Gran Coupe (G26). A single electrically excited synchronous motor on the rear axle produces 335 hp (250 kW) and 317 lb-ft, drawing on an 81.5-kWh usable (83.9-kWh gross) lithium-ion pack for an EPA-rated 318 miles of range and 112 MPGe combined. BMW quotes 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a 118-mph top speed, while a slippery 0.24 drag coefficient helps it stretch every kilowatt-hour. It is the rational, rear-drive sweet spot of the i4 line beneath the all-wheel-drive xDrive40 and the performance M50.

EPA reports 30 kWh per 100 MILES for the eDrive40 (18-inch wheels). The Car Index canonical unit for energy-consumption is kWh/100 km; the value here is recorded in the source's per-100-mile basis and should be reviewed/normalized before it is treated as a per-100-km figure (30 kWh/100 mi ≈ 18.6 kWh/100 km). Flagged so it is not double-converted.

Peak DC fast-charge ~205 kW via CCS Combo 2 for the 81.5-kWh eDrive40; the eDrive40's charging-duration row cites an 80% charge in 31 minutes at a 205.0 kW DC station, matching the i4 infobox max of DC 205 kW. (Wikipedia's summary DCFC cell groups eDrive35/eDrive40 at 'up to 180 kW', so this is flagged MEDIUM.) [Figure attributed to BMW, read via Wikipedia.]
