Revealed in October 2024 on BMW's front-drive-based FAAR architecture, the F74 2 Series Gran Coupe is a four-door coupe-styled subcompact sedan, and the M235 xDrive is its hottest variant. In US trim the heavily revised B48 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four produces 312 hp (233 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm), routed through a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive. BMW quotes 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and a 155-mph top speed when fitted with performance tires, while Adaptive M Suspension is standard. For the 2025 model year the M235 dropped the trailing 'i' from its badge but remains the M Performance halo of the smallest BMW sedan.
