The G26 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is the five-door liftback bodystyle of the second-generation 4 Series, sharing the CLAR platform with the G22 coupe but adding rear-door practicality, a hatchback tailgate and five-seat capacity. In M440i xDrive guise it is powered by the B58 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, rated at 382 hp and 369 lb-ft and driving all four wheels through an eight-speed Steptronic automatic. It sits at the top of the non-M Gran Coupe range as a refined grand-touring hatchback rather than a track special, leaving the outright performance halo to the M4.
